In an e-mail and Facebook annoucement Volks USA has let their fans know that they’ve made the move to a new location. Being an optimist, I was hoping this meant that perhaps they would be opening a new physical location in LA so we could get back to our Volks experience in person in the states.
According to users on DoA and evidenced by google maps, Volks is moving to a ‘rougher’ part of town to a place that looks like a storage facility. I wonder what is in store for Volks USA in the future? I hope they are able to stay in business and keep selling their beautiful products stateside.
Also as you may or may not know the “special event” for LE Dolls from dolpa happeneds over the last weekend. In a baffling move, Volks decided to have a clickwar for their dolls. This basically means that if you try and enter for more than one item you will not be able to check out as their servers become overloaded and they will cancel your order. It’s a long known set up for frustration and a road we’ve traveled with Volks USA in 2015.
Clickwars were disastrous with outfit releases in 2015-2016 and people would sit online for at least an hour trying to make a purchase. Volks USA even came out and made an apology video (Michael Scott style) and said that their past transgressions would not be repeated. Remember this?
The general manager is literally apologizing for the exact same issue experienced with the latest doll release on Volks USA. It’s confusing that we are here in 2018 and we are back to the clickwars, leaving many consumers very angry- well, at least if the comments on their Facebook page are any indication. Understandably so…
As EIC for Tenshinomon.com I adore Volks USA, naturally. I do not understand why they insist on click wars and a ‘first come first serve’ business model that only caters to people with the fastest internet connection. I also think being punished by losing your entire cart of items because you wanted to buy more than one item is ridiculous. Why not go back to lotteries for these things?
Dear Volks USA: If you are going to host events that are ‘first come first serve” then please be willing to sell enough items for people to buy. Clickwars are terrible and discourage people from buying from you.
Let’s hope for a better, more compassionate sales method in the future from Volks USA. Otherwise I’m with Debbie Smith. (see pic above)
